Knowledge Management
This is one of our real strengths and gives us a significant competitive edge over our competition.
It's primary objective is to strengthen Hays Executive's ability to capture and leverage the information available on clients, candidates and markets to ensure competitive advantage. The management of Hays Executive's Intellectual Property (IP) is the responsibility of the national Knowledge Management (KM) team.
At the heart of this strategy is a commitment to "right first time" executive search. The Knowledge Management team take a pre-emptive and pro-active approach to search. Their role is to arm Consultants with up-to-date and accurate information, and most importantly to identify talent to ensure positive outcomes. Even prior to a client engaging Hays Executive to deliver a recruitment assignment, the KM team is engaged to help the Consultant develop a very clear understanding of an organisation's competitors, their financial positioning, organisational structure, strategic and operational issues, news coverage etc.
The Consultant can then rely on this information to deliver a powerful proposal and presentation, and ensure the formulation of an appropriate search and selection strategy, tailored to the needs of a particular client.
Once a Hays Executive Consultant has been retained by a client, the KM team's focus changes to the search for the successful individual. They are tasked with producing an exhaustive list of potential industry, organisational and individual targets for consideration utilising market mapping, to ensure that an effective list identifying the right companies and individuals forms the core of the executive search.
- This is drawn from a combination of sources;
- The knowledge gained from previous searches, individuals and advisors in our network
- Consultants’ expertise
- The client's recommendations
- Information from the web and our global database
- The knowledge of our specialist sister brands within Hays (many candidates have been recruited by Hays Specialist Recruitment Ltd at various stages in their career).
Validation of information, namely key facts about candidates and their employers, is the responsibility of the KM team. Their role is to ensure that the Consultant, when managing the executive search, is empowered with a core of information to make a qualified approach to individuals. The KM team provide the Consultant with a list of executive candidate biographies for analysis and an appropriate engagement strategy is applied according to the individuals named.
The KM team work very closely with the consultants and are responsible for ensuring that throughout the candidate management process within the recruitment campaign, information from candidates is captured and utilised to empower the next search. The “recycling” element of information management is critical to build our expertise and position us appropriately in subsequent searches.
Most importantly, this information forms the core of qualitative feedback to clients on areas such as employment branding and candidate perceptions, salaries and benefits in the market; location challenges etc, alongside “lessons learned” and statistical information from the recruitment exercise itself.
Our clients and our consultants find this information incredibly useful.
