With a newly appointed Vice Chancellor and having just been awarded University status this was an important appointment for The University of Bolton. Meeting with various key stakeholders led to an accurate understanding the culture of the institution and the requirements of the role; to be inspired and motivated by challenge and to 'hit the ground running'. Through a combination of online and print advertising and using our research team we identified individuals from within and outside the HE sector. Hays Assessment Services supported our consultant's analysis of the technical skills and personality traits of the 4 short-listed candidates and the individual appointed was candidate first approached by the research team.
