Jones Lang LaSalle
International Head of Projects
An internal restructure within Jones Lang LaSalle, the leading real estate services and money management firm, necessitated the recruitment of a head of projects for one of their flagship facilities management outsourced contracts. The role held an EMEA wide remit, managing teams of country based project managers, and working closely in partnership with the client, based in mainland Europe. The challenge therefore was to source someone with international multiple project management experience, managing remote multinational teams, and working to strict SLAs for a global Fortune 500 company.
After consultation with Jones Lang LaSalle to explore all options it was decided to proceed with a combination search and selection approach. We embarked on an online advertising campaign, targeting technical job boards globally, and building a dedicated Jones Lang LaSalle recruitment website to provide information on the company, contract and opportunity. This enabled us to target the expatriate and international market. We supplemented it with offline advertising in the Daily Telegraph and a targeted search of the UK market, using our dedicated research team and also through our industry networks.
As a result of the search, networking and advertising, we were able to present people from the UK, mainland Europe and the Middle East for interview. Two candidates went through to final interview, and it was felt that either would be a suitable person for the role. Close liaison between the successful applicant and Jones Lang LaSalle ensured the offer process went without a hitch and the new EMEA Head of Project Management joined the company less than four months from the start of the assignment.
