Peter Armitage
Practice Director, Hays Executive
Peter heads the Hays Executive practice, which recruits at the most senior levels.
He has previously worked as Campaign Director for a national children’s charity
and as MD of a PR and marketing business.
He has also held Managing Director and Human Resources Director positions in the
private sector, at companies such as Pret a Manger and the Minit Group.
Peter has spent 20 years specialising in the development and implementation of human
resource strategies, in particular focusing on the identification and selection
of talented individuals and teams.
He joined Hays Executive in August 2004, seeing it as a company with a different
and more customer-focused approach to executive search, rather than the 'take it
or leave it' style of recruitment common to many other companies.
Over the last two years Peter has recruited Chief Executives and Directors for a
range of client organisations in the public services. He became Practice Director
earlier this year in order to support Hays Executive’s growth across all sectors.
Recognising that diversity is critical to success for any business, Peter strives
to ensure that Hays upholds this principle and utilises it in the work carried out
for clients, especially through the INclusion Network.
